St. Petersburg Tourist Injured by Rockfall During Monkey Photo Shoot in Azerbaijan

A tourist from Saint Petersburg was caught in a rockfall while posing for a photo with a monkey at the "Seven Beauties" waterfall in Gabala, Azerbaijan. The woman, identified by Baza as Regina, sustained a severe head injury when a large boulder struck her.

According to the report, other tourists scattered as the rocks began to fall, but Regina could not get out of the way in time. The impact caused a deep gash that soaked her clothing in blood, requiring four stitches at a local hospital. The monkey, which was part of the photo session, was unharmed.

Medical staff told Regina that rockfalls are a common hazard at the waterfall, and she is far from the first visitor to be injured there.
