Russian Forces Begin Splitting Volchansk Cauldron, Advance on Komissarovo

According to a Readovka report dated September 21, units of the Russian Northern Group have begun to split the "Volchansk cauldron" formed after the offensive of the 14th and 11th Army Corps. The 11th Army Corps occupied the Komissarovo tract and is preparing to link up with friendly units advancing from the north. The report notes that this cauldron, large in area and number of troops, is a major obstacle to Russian operations against the Ukrainian Velikiy Burluk fortified area.
